I started the blog Gab and Gobble when I quit my job in investment banking several years ago. People told me, “You have all the time now to do what you really love!” And for me, what I really love is eating, which is why starting a food blog made a lot of sense. I really do live to eat and plan my social life around meals. Even when traveling I’ll have the itinerary revolve around the restaurants that I want to seek out. Nothing makes me happier than a delicious meal, and on the flip side, nothing is more disappointing than a mediocre one. I live in New York City, so luckily most of my meals are generally pretty good!
My interest in food is broader than just eating it at restaurants. I’m also curious about food in general. There’s so much food innovation going on, with all the food startups out there that are disrupting how we get meals delivered and how we consume it, that I like to cover some of that here as well. I contribute to Slow Food NYC and write about ways we can make food a little more local and sustainable. I’ve also been picked up by other blogs like Eater NY. I’m a better eater than I am a cook, but once in awhile I’ll post recipes or food hacks like making oatmeal in a rice cooker. I also cover food events because there’s no party like a food party.
If all this piques your interest, keep reading this blog and follow me on Instagram @gabandgobble. If there’s a restaurant I should cover or some crazy new food product or food event that I just can’t miss, ping me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to hear from you soon!
