Summer is almost halfway over, which means time’s running out on how to make the most out of these precious sunny weekends. Luckily there are still tickets left for Secret Summer 2017, the city’s best summer party, which is back for its third year at The Foundry in Long Island City, Queens on Sunday, August 6. There’s no better way to spend a #Sundayfunday than day drinking unlimited artisanal farm-to-bar cocktails underneath the stunning urban skyline, so click here to buy tickets today!
RAPT New York returns again to curate the cocktail menu, continuing its partnership of responsibly sourcing herbs and greens from Farm. One, an indoor, hydroponic farm that’s truly local with its downtown Manhattan location. A sneak peek at the cocktail menu shows tantalizing and playful creations like the “Resting Birch Face”, featuring Woodford Reserve bourbon, foraged black birch, Wilklow Orchard cherries and Farm. One mints, and “Figgedaboudit”, a concoction of Zacapa 23 rum, mission figs from Murray Farm, Harmless Harvest coconut water, honey and thyme.
After getting your buzz on (did we forget to mention that the cocktails included in your ticket are unlimited??), you’ll definitely want to pair some food with those drinks. This year’s featured food trucks include Luke’s Lobster’s “Nautimobile”, Big D’s Grub Truck, La Pulperia and Wafels & Dinges. Whether you’re in the mood for something savory or a little sweet, or something punchy or on the lighter side, these food trucks will have you covered.
One of the highlights at last year’s Secret Summer was the live entertainment, and this year, the Drumadics, a 5 piece big brass ensemble, will bring in the noise and the funk at Secret Summer. I’m also looking forward to seeing what’s in store from Momentum Drums, a drumming performance group that can make beats out of anything. We’ll have to wait and see what they have up their sleeves on Sunday…
And of course, if you’ve been to past Secret Summer parties like me and are hoping that they will still offer the good old fun of a photo booth and face painting, rest assured that goofy poses and painted flowers are still in the picture for 2017. Better yet, you can also get your nails done by Sundays Nail Salon, have a haiku penned by the Haiku Guys and Gals and cover your arms in body art by Mehndi by Monika.
In order to join in on the fun, you have to buy Wave 3 passes at www.secretsummernyc.com before they sell out! Hope to see you there on Sunday in bohemian chic with a drink or two in tow!
